An open meeting for women* in audio to share needs and strategies in response to the coronavirus pandemic and help shape YSWN’s future work.
At YSWN we are keenly aware of the challenges experienced by our community and all those working in sound and music as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. These range from loss of gigs, contracts and income, to reduced opportunities to meet, skill-share and collaborate with likeminded people.
We have been looking at ways to adapt and deliver YSWN activities in light of the pandemic and want to hear from our community about their needs at this time, and how YSWN can best support women (including trans women) and people of marginalised genders in audio.
We warmly invite you to join us for an online conversation where you will be able to share your current experience and needs, as well as any strategies and solutions you have found effective:
• What specific challenges have you faced as a result of COVID-19?
• What would help your interest/career in audio to progress at this current time?
• Do you have thoughts about how this network in particular might be able to help?
The findings of the meeting will inform YSWN funding applications to support the community.
The meeting will take place over Zoom and will be facilitated by YSWN co-director Jo Kennedy. Registered attendees can access a Zoom link and password on Eventbrite’s online event page before the event.
This is an open meeting and we welcome both existing members of the YSWN community who have taken part in our events and activities, and those who are interested in connecting with us and sharing experiences. We work with all those who identify as women, including trans women and people of marginalised genders.
Please note: in order to ensure as many as possible can attend, two meetings are being held, on 23 and 25 June. Both are the same format so please choose which one is more convenient for you.
Join our mailing list and we’ll keep you informed with the latest YSWN news, upcoming events and related opportunities.
