Communities and confidence: the findings of our impact survey

Back in June, we asked YSWN members and anyone who had been involved with an affiliated or similar group to fill out a survey asking for their experiences. The results would help us gauge how and where networks like ours might be making an impact, as well as telling us where YSWN and similar organisations could expand our activities or find new ways to meet people’s needs.

You can read the findings of the survey in our report, All-Women Sound Networks – are we making a difference?, linked to as a downloadable PDF document below and also on our Resources page.

Our survey’s main findings are:
• Networks such as YSWN help participants find community with others sharing their interests
• Involvement with a network can increase confidence at all levels of experience with sound technology
• Members gained hands-on skills, professional opportunities, inspiration and the chance to share experiences
• There are a range of ways in which we could support greater involvement in the future.

Read the full report to find out more about what people told us and how it might shape our work in 2020. Thanks to everyone who helped by participating in our survey.
