Yorkshire Sound Women Network CIC (YSWN) is looking for a dynamic and resourceful Coordinator based in Kirklees to support the organisation in the next exciting stages of its development.

YSWN was founded in 2015 by women working in the music technology industry who wanted to use their skills and influence to address gender and racial inequality. We enable the artistic and technical development of women and girls through access to resources, skills sharing, and collaborative opportunities. To date, we have delivered over 80 workshops, and inspired new regional groups across Yorkshire and beyond.

YSWN’s mission is to support a flourishing industry which welcomes, encourages, progresses and respects the inclusion of girls and women at all levels and reflects the diversity of its participating communities. We became a Community Interest Company (CIC) in May 2018.

The successful candidate will work mostly from home and will be required to support YSWN in the effective coordination of activities outlined in its current Business Plan, including industry-facing advocacy, events/workshops and education programmes, engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders and communities. The Coordinator will also work closely with YSWN Directors and Associates to enable the further development and sustainability of the organisation.

Candidates can apply for this post by sending a cover letter, CV and contact details for two referees to the Directors at info@yorkshiresoundwomen.com. Cover letters should outline relevant skills and experience with reference to the person specification below.

The Coordinator will be engaged on the basis that they shall have the status of a self-employed person and shall be responsible for all their own tax liabilities and National Insurance or similar contributions. Candidates will also need to provide evidence that they are eligible to work in the UK. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a satisfactory DBS check prior to appointment.

This post is funded through Kirklees Council’s successful bid to the Leeds City Region Business Rates Pool, part of an ambitious project to make the most of Kirklees’ rich and diverse musical heritage. Priority will be given to candidates who are resident in Kirklees.

Application Deadline: 10am, Monday 22 October 2018
Interviews: Friday 9 November 2018, in Huddersfield
