Bring YSWN to your area
If you like the idea of joining YSWN but there aren’t any groups in your area, then that’s no problem. We can help you find other existing collectives where you live, or to set up one of your own.
With your own group you can meet other like minded people to swap skills and knowledge, share and collaborate on projects and have fun with music technology. Host your own social meetups and events and know that you’re promoting gender equality in your local area. And as part of the wider YSWN network you’ll be able to access training and advice on running your group, as well as YSWN workshops, events and the opportunity to form connections with our other groups.
If you’re based in Yorkshire then your group can be part of Yorkshire Sound Women Network; if you’re further afield than it can be affiliated to YSWN. Groups are free to decide their own identities, choosing their own names, meeting schedules and focus. All you need to do is agree to follow YSWN’s policies, especially our Equality, Diversity and Safer Spaces Policy, which you can read here.
Once your group is established, we’ll add it to the Groups page of our website, and if you keep us updated with your news we can help advertise your events and activities.
If you’d like to talk to us about setting up a group, get in touch using the form on this page or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join our mailing list and we’ll keep you informed with the latest YSWN news, upcoming events and related opportunities.
