Support YSWN through a regular monthly or one-off donation and you’ll help sustain the organisation, meaning we can continue to make a difference for women and people of minority genders in sound and technology.
Your donation helps YSWN to:
• Support girls, women and minority gender people to progress – through developing technical and creative skills, artist development opportunities and paid traineeships offering routes into the audio industry.
• Inspire through hands-on education activities that spark the interest of girls and minority gender young people in different aspects of music technology, from coding to recording, sound design and live sound engineering…all led by inspiring role models.
• Connect like-minded people through grassroots regional group activities including hands-on workshops, gigs and socials.
• Promote the work of inspiring women and minority gender audio professionals through our pool of YSWN freelance Associates, podcast series and webinars.
• Listen to the needs of our community, the challenges they face and understanding ingredients for success; commissioning and sharing learning from independent research and evaluation.
• Advocate for positive change to create a gender equitable industry and urging educators to use gender inclusive strategies.
You can read all about YSWN’s latest achievements in our annual review.
Your donation is hugely valuable to YSWN. Here are some examples of what your donation could support:
Could support travel costs for someone with limited means to attend and meet people at their first YSWN event.
Could support equipment costs associated with YSWN skill-sharing workshops such as software and sound equipment.
Could fund a mentoring session with an industry professional providing valuable advice around audio careers.
Could help YSWN to advocate within the industry for flexible working practices and improved progression opportunities for women.
Could pay for a group with limited access to such opportunities to take part in a hands-on music technology workshop.
Could contribute towards a paid internship for a woman or non-binary person seeking work experience in the audio sector.
You can set up your donation to YSWN online via Paypal using the buttons above. You can also use PayPal to set up a one-off donation for any amount.
Alternately if you’d like to make a bespoke donation for a specific purpose, please contact Heidi Johnson, Development Manager at info@yorkshiresoundwomen.com
