Our popular WIRED music technology clubs are back!
We’re launching two sets of free sessions in Bradford and Nottingham where girls and gender-diverse young people aged 11-14 can learn audio skills and get creative with sound.
A WIRED session in Wakefield in 2022, led by Mia Windsor.
WIRED returns to Yorkshire from Wednesday 3 June, with a new weekly after-school club at Bradford Arts Centre. Led by music production lecturer Chantelle Scott and R&B/soul artist Rumbi Tauro, the six sessions will provide an introduction to recording, producing and mixing music with the help of a DAW (digital audio workstation) as well as having fun with effects and synthesis.
Meanwhile, Rewired – that’s WIRED by another name – starts in Nottingham on Tuesday 2 June, offering six after-school sessions inspired by the innovations of electronic music composer Daphne Oram. With guidance from music technologist and electronics engineer Ann Fomukong-Boden and DIY creator John Richards – aka Dirty Electronics – attendees can explore music production software and creative coding, try drawing with sound and make their own mini-instrument to take home.
No previous knowledge is needed to take part in either club. Read on for full details and how to register:
