Wanted: WIRED Music Leader and Trainee Music Leader in Wakefield – apply now!

We’re recruiting for two roles to help deliver our next series of WIRED music technology clubs in Wakefield.

We’re looking for an experienced female identifying or minority gender* Music Leader to plan and deliver (in partnership with Wakefield Music Hub) sessions for girls and minority gender young people aged 11-18 between May and July 2022.

There is also an opportunity for a Trainee Music Leader who will assist and be mentored by the Music Leaders while gaining valuable experience in workshop delivery.

The sessions will be designed by the tutor team and may include the following:

  • Writing and recording songs
  • Setting up and using different microphones
  • Using computer software to create beats, baselines and melodies
  • Coding, sound synthesis and electronics
  • Editing songs and adding effects in Ableton Live
  • Using other music production software such as Audacity and Logic
  • Finishing, mixing and mastering songs
  • Electronic performance & DJing
  • Careers in the music technology industry

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 20 April; however we are looking to fill these posts as soon as possible so applications will be assessed as they are submitted and the deadline may close early.

*For the Music Leader role, YSWN will be appointing a woman or person of minority gender. This is to meet the need to provide the course participants with positive role models around gender equality in music technology. The other Music Leader on the course is male.
The Trainee Music Leader role is open to all genders.
