YSWN is recruiting an Audio Equity Champion: an exciting new role for someone to lead our industry-facing activities, devise and deliver training and work with our pool of freelance YSWN Associates.

Job Profile

Title: Audio Equity Champion
Contract: Fixed-term employed, 0.4 FTE (15 hours per week) until 31 March 2025
Salary: £30,000 pro rata (£12,000 per annum)
Location: Home-based (anywhere in the UK)

Yorkshire Sound Women Network (YSWN) is seeking a motivated Audio Equity Champion to lead its industry-facing activities, helping to create a more inclusive and equitable audio sector. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Volume Up: YSWN’s Audio Equity Standard and YSWN’s training and consultancy offer, as well as being the main point of contact for our pool of freelance professional Associates.

The successful applicant will be actively committed to the values of YSWN with excellent knowledge and contacts within the audio industry, will demonstrate a sound understanding of issues facing women and people of minority genders in audio; be a strong advocate for change within the sector able to robustly challenge and support others to influence attitudes and behaviours and be confident in devising and delivering engaging training sessions.

YSWN enables the artistic and technical development of women and people of minority genders through access to resources, skills-sharing, and creative opportunities. Our work has two key areas: education and community activities that inspire and enable women, girls and people of minority genders to explore music technology, and industry-facing advocacy activities.
