Ever wanted to have a go at recording your own song? Or mix your own tracks?
Join us for the WIRED club: fun, hands-on sessions led by experienced musicians using industry-standard music technology equipment and programmes.
After successfully running in Leeds, Doncaster and Wakefield, our WIRED Music Technology Club for Girls launches in Rotherham this March.
Open to girls, young women and minority gender young people aged 11–18, the free weekly sessions start on Thursday 2 March and run weekly (with a break for Easter) at Rotherham College until Thursday 18 May.
Sign up and you’ll have the chance to:
• Record, compose and produce music
• Set up microphones
• Use computer software to create beats, basslines and melodies
• Explore sampling
• Try different types of synthesizers
• Learn about potential careers in the audio and music industry
And more!
The sessions are led by Helen Papaioannou and Mia Windsor, Yorkshire-based musicians who both compose, produce and perform their own electronic music.
WIRED session dates:
Thursday 2 March then Thursdays (except for 6 & 13 April) until 18 May
5pm–6.30pm
Rotherham College, Town Centre Campus, Eastwood Lane, Rotherham S65 1EG

We welcome all girls, young women, non-binary people and other marginalised genders aged 11-18 years old with different levels of music and/or technology experience. It’s free to take part, no prior experience is necessary and you don’t have to be able to play a musical instrument. We do ask that you commit to attending as many of the workshops as you can.
If you know someone who might be interested in WIRED, why not share our WIRED Rotherham flyer with them?
WIRED is funded and supported by Youth Music, Rotherham College and Rotherham Music Hub.
