Re-WIRED in Rotherham: more free workshops for 11-18s this June

Girls, young women and minority gender people aged 11–18 in Rotherham have another chance to join in with our free WIRED music technology club and try out a range of electronic music-making skills.

Starting on Thursday 8 June, our four-week WIRED mini-course offers free workshops where participants can explore different approaches to making music, sculpt sounds with synthesisers, create beats and musical patterns using live coding, and learn about potential careers in the music industry.

Each fun, hands-on session will be led by Helen Papaioannou and Mia Windsor, Yorkshire-based musicians who both compose, produce and perform their own electronic music. The final week of the course will be a social session where the group can chat to YSWN’s WIRED Story Builders and share their thoughts on making music technology education more inclusive.

The sessions run from 5pm–6.30pm at Rotherham College. To sign up for a free place, participants need to download the form below and complete it with a parent or carer.
